Rasputin is an Imperial Stout brewed by De Molen in the Netherlands, and probably the brewery’s most acclaimed beer. Finally, it’s here for Malta to savour! The beer is brewed in honour of the most famous character of the Russian Romanov court, Rasputin and is only brewed once a year. With a thick, dense body, one can age this stout for up to 25 years in a cellar. Rasputin could quickly became a vintage beer. It has a very dense body.
It has a very dark brown robe, almost black topped by a persistent light brown head. It contains 10.5 % alcohol; the nose has thus strong liquorish aromas, but you will find aromas of dark fruits, chocolate, caramel and roasted malt. In the mouth, you will find a strong liquorish taste, with notes of coffee and caramel
The finish is powerful with roasted malt flavours and a strong bitterness. The flavours could change during the ageing.
